It is an honor and a great pleasure to invite you to the 9th IBRO World Congress on Neuroscience. For the first time, the meeting will take place in a Latin American country. Nature, economic growth, warm-hearted people and, of course, good neuroscience will blend together in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, to create an unforgettable experience for all the attendants of the congress.
The venue of the 9th IBRO World Congress will be the Sulamerica Convention Center, at downtown Rio, well connected by subway to most hotels and hostels of the city.
The Program is being prepared by a high-level international Committee, and will cover most important areas and topics of current neuroscience research. The goal is to deepen understanding of brain structure and function, from molecules to behavior, in lectures by distinguished scientists, symposia and minisymposia with thematic leaders of different countries, and posters open to scientists, postdocs and students all over the world.
We hope that, in addition to an exchange of excellent scientific ideas and concepts, you will find the time and opportunity to visit the city of Rio de Janeiro, well-known for its breath-taking scenery, surrounded by a green rain forest complemented by beautiful beaches and deep blue sea. Moreover, Rio is considered one of the world-wide prime destinations, particularly because of its exotic and vibrant cultures, and the warm hospitality of the cariocas (the people from Rio). Besides these features, Rio is a scientific and technological center with many universities, research institutes, technological parks, and a high-tech industry primarily based on the oil extraction from deep sea.
We are certain that we will have an event of high scientific level in an environment of friendliness and international cooperation, one of the trademarks of Brazilians.
From July 7 to 11, 2015, come and enjoy with us a carefully elaborated scientific program, cultural activities and the beauty of one of the most attractive cities of the world.
We count on your presence!
